This page explains how Natived Spaces handles data and sets the basic terms for using the app.
Overview
Natived Spaces is a local-first study app for students on Mac, Windows, and iPhone awaiting App Store review.
Natived Spaces helps you organize course Spaces, notes, reminders, materials, calendar items, study-card decks, and study activity.
Natived Spaces is operated from Massachusetts, United States. In these terms, "Natived Spaces," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the operator of the Natived Spaces app, website, and related services.
You do not need to provide personal information to use local guest-mode organization features. If you choose to use hosted AI features, account features, or Premium, we need the information required to authenticate your account, process billing, enforce usage limits, and provide those services.
Your workspace content is yours. Natived Spaces stores your spaces, notes, reminders, study cards, calendar events, app settings, local material references, and any selected-page PDFs you choose to save on your own device.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Natived Spaces, the website, account services, AI proxy services, billing flows, or related support channels, you agree to these Terms of Use and acknowledge this Privacy Notice, which is our privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use Natived Spaces or its services.
Terms of Use
Services and License
Natived Spaces gives you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and related services for lawful study, productivity, and personal organization. Some features are free, while other features may require a paid subscription or account.
Natived Spaces is licensed, not sold. You may not resell, redistribute, commercially host, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, abuse, or create competing services from proprietary parts of Natived Spaces except where applicable law permits.
Eligibility
You may use the services on your own only if you have reached the age of majority where you live and can form legally binding contracts under applicable law. If you have not reached the age of majority, you may use Natived Spaces only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms.
Use of Services and Rules
You may use Natived Spaces only for lawful purposes. Do not use the app, website, accounts, billing flows, AI features, or hosted services to break the law, infringe others' rights, harass others, distribute malware, spam services, scrape or overload systems, bypass rate limits, attack infrastructure, or interfere with anyone else's use of Natived Spaces.
Do not submit passwords, API keys, payment information, health information, government identifiers, or other highly sensitive data into AI features. Natived Spaces is not a secure vault or regulated records system.
Content and Ownership
Your notes, spaces, cards, materials, and other workspace content remain yours. Natived Spaces claims no ownership over your workspace content.
You grant Natived Spaces the limited rights needed to operate the app and requested services, including storing local data, displaying content in the app, processing selected AI context, sending requested AI payloads through our proxy, and returning generated results. You are responsible for having the rights to store, process, or use materials you add to the app, including course files, PDFs, slides, images, and other documents.
AI Features and No Professional Advice
AI features are optional and user-invoked. They are powered by Anthropic Claude through our Vercel backend. On iPhone, you must allow AI data sharing before selected content can be sent, and you can turn that permission off. Spaces, notes, reminders, study tools, and other local features continue to work without AI. AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. Natived Spaces does not provide professional, legal, medical, financial, academic, safety, or other regulated advice. Review AI output before relying on it.
AI Access and Usage Limits
Hosted AI requires a signed-in Natived account. Free accounts currently include 10 AI requests total, shared across Pair, Study Decks, and Reminders. Premium includes a monthly AI allowance shared across all AI features and metered by actual usage, plus a shared request cooling limit. The remaining allowance and reset date are shown in the app. Premium usage does not consume the free lifetime allowance. We may adjust limits to protect availability, cost, and plan benefits.
Third-Party Services
Natived Spaces relies on third-party services including Vercel, Upstash Redis / Vercel KV, Anthropic Claude, Google, Apple, and Stripe. These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. Natived Spaces is not responsible for third-party services outside its control.
Payments and Optional Paid Tiers
Premium subscriptions on Windows and macOS are started and managed through Stripe-hosted Checkout and Stripe's customer portal. Your card details do not touch Natived Spaces servers. Subscriptions are tied to your Natived account, and guests cannot subscribe without signing in.
Premium subscriptions initiated on iOS mobile devices are processed, billed, and managed exclusively through the Apple App Store using your Apple Account.
Unless otherwise stated at checkout, Premium is a recurring subscription. Price, applicable taxes, billing intervals, and payment terms are displayed prior to purchase. Entitlement tier changes are synchronized via Stripe webhook events or App Store Server Notifications processed by our Vercel backend. Web website redirects, local application states, or checkout success pages do not independently grant Premium access.
Subscriptions purchased via our website can be managed or canceled through the app's Settings page via the Stripe customer portal, subject to Stripe's subscription state rules. Subscriptions purchased via iOS must be managed and canceled directly within your iOS Account Settings. Refunds are not automatic unless required by law or expressly stated; contact us at nativedspaces@gmail.com if you believe a charge was made in error.
Service Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may update, modify, pause, remove, or discontinue parts of the app, website, AI service, account service, pricing, paid tiers, or billing flow over time. We may suspend or terminate access to hosted features if you violate these terms, misuse the services, create risk for other users or systems, or if we are required to do so by law.
You may stop using Natived Spaces at any time. On desktop, uninstalling the app does not automatically delete its local workspace folder. On iPhone, deleting the app removes its local app sandbox, while offloading the app may preserve its data. Signing out or deleting your Natived account does not delete local workspace content.
Indemnification
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Natived Spaces and its contributors from claims, damages, liabilities, losses, and expenses arising from your misuse of Natived Spaces, your violation of these terms, your content or materials, or your violation of another person's rights.
Disclaimers
Natived Spaces is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee that Natived Spaces will meet your needs, preserve every file, improve grades, produce accurate AI output, remain available, be secure, or be error-free. Desktop workspace data lives in the operating system's application-data folder, and iPhone workspace data lives in the app sandbox. App updates should not intentionally delete that data, but deleting the iPhone app removes its sandbox. Keep your own backups of important work.
Limitations of Liability and Damages
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Natived Spaces and its contributors will not be liable for lost data, lost profits, lost grades, business interruption, indirect damages, incidental damages, consequential damages, special damages, punitive damages, or other losses arising from use of the app, website, AI features, account features, billing services, or third-party services.
International Users
Natived Spaces is operated from the United States and is primarily intended for users in the United States. We do not intentionally target or market Natived Spaces outside the United States. If you access Natived Spaces from another country, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for complying with local laws. Data may be processed in the United States and by our service providers.
Governing Law and Disputes
These terms, and any dispute arising out of or relating to Natived Spaces, the website, accounts, AI features, or billing, are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the state and federal courts located in Massachusetts have exclusive jurisdiction and venue over any dispute that is not otherwise resolved, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.
Before starting any formal dispute, you agree to first contact us at nativedspaces@gmail.com so we can try to resolve the matter informally. Nothing in this section removes any rights you cannot waive under the consumer-protection laws of the place where you live.
Privacy Notice
What We Collect
Natived Spaces stores workspace data locally on your device. Desktop data are stored at the paths below. On iPhone, workspace data are stored inside the app's local sandbox rather than at a user-visible filesystem path.

Documents linked through the Files picker remain in their original Files location. Natived Spaces stores local link metadata and a device-specific access bookmark. Selected-page PDFs you explicitly keep as Materials are app-managed files stored in the Natived Spaces files path and sandbox.
When you use hosted services, we may collect or process account records, session records, refresh records, provider identity data, billing metadata, verified Apple transaction and entitlement metadata, AI usage counters, per-account feature-usage and activity records (day granularity only), rate-limit counters, AI request content, website analytics events, support messages, IP addresses, and request metadata.
For Google sign-in, Natived Spaces uses basic account identity information needed to create and authenticate your Natived account, such as your email address, provider name, and provider user ID. Natived Spaces does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, or other Google account content.
For Sign in with Apple on iPhone, Natived Spaces processes the Apple provider user ID and the authentication data needed to verify the sign-in. Apple may provide no email address or may provide a private relay address. Email is optional display information and does not link an Apple identity to a Google identity. Natived also stores an Apple-issued provider refresh token, encrypted at rest in Upstash Redis / Vercel KV, solely so we can ask Apple to revoke the authorization if you delete your Natived account.
Where Data Goes
On launch, the app sends an anonymous ping to our Vercel backend containing only the local install UUID. Update checks send the current app version. Account, AI, billing, and subscription requests send the information needed to authenticate the request, enforce usage limits, process billing, and return results.
When you use Pair on a Note page, Natived Spaces sends your Pair prompt plus limited text around your cursor. When you generate reminders or study cards from a PDF, PNG, Markdown, or TXT file, Natived Spaces processes the source locally creating a new image-based PDF. That generated PDF is sent through our Vercel AI proxy. The original source file is not uploaded. If you choose to save the PDF to Materials, it remains locally in that Space; otherwise the temporary local copy is removed after the request.
On supported iPhones, Note recording uses Apple's on-device speech processing. The microphone audio file is temporary and is removed when recording ends. The transcript is saved in the local Note. iOS may download the required speech model into Apple-managed system storage. The transcript is not sent to Natived's AI services unless you later choose an AI feature that uses selected Note content.

Third-Party Providers
- Vercel - hosts the website and serverless API proxy; processes runtime request metadata, logs, and website analytics events.
- Upstash Redis / Vercel KV - stores anonymous install UUIDs, session counts, account/session records, the encrypted Apple provider refresh token, billing metadata, and AI usage counters.
- Anthropic Claude - receives AI prompts, selected note context, and selected-pages PDFs needed to generate requested AI responses.
- Google - provides OAuth sign-in for account creation and authentication.
- Apple - provides Sign in with Apple and its authorization credentials, App Store purchase processing, StoreKit transaction and subscription services, and on-device speech services where supported.
- Stripe - processes desktop Premium subscription checkout, customer portal, payment method updates, cancellations, invoices, receipts, taxes when enabled, and related billing events.
Relevant third-party policies: Vercel Privacy Policy, Vercel Runtime Logs, Upstash Legal Documents, Anthropic Privacy Policy, Anthropic Commercial Terms, Google Privacy Policy, Apple Privacy Policy, and Stripe Privacy Policy.
Cookies, Analytics, and Tracking
The Natived Spaces apps do not use advertising pixels or behavioral ad tracking. The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to understand page views and basic site traffic. Desktop billing opens Stripe-hosted pages that may use cookies or similar technologies according to Stripe's policies. After App Store approval, iPhone purchases will be processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not use website analytics to inspect your local workspace content.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing. We share data with the providers listed above only as needed to operate Natived Spaces and provide the services you request.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, correct, or limit certain personal information. Your anonymous install ID, account details, billing metadata, AI usage records, and content you choose to send to AI features may be treated as personal information under some laws.
Signing out or deleting your Natived account does not delete local workspace data. To remove local workspace data, follow the steps for each device:
macOS:
- Open Finder, then choose Go > Go to Folder.
- Enter
~/Library/Application Support/NativedSpaces/. - Delete the folder.
Windows:
- Press Win + R, enter
%LOCALAPPDATA%\NativedSpaces\, then press Enter. - Delete the folder.
iPhone:
- Delete Natived Spaces from the iPhone to remove its local app sandbox. Offloading the app may retain its data.
- Documents you linked from Files remain in their original Files locations and must be deleted there separately if desired.
On Mac and Windows, uninstalling Natived Spaces does not automatically delete the workspace folder. Deleting the desktop folder or the iPhone app sandbox removes local workspace data and the local anonymous ID for that installation. A later reinstall creates a fresh local anonymous ID.
For anonymous guest usage, we cannot look up backend records by name or email. If you contact us with your anonymous ID, we can try to delete server-side records tied to that ID where feasible. For account-related records, use the in-app account deletion control where available or contact us from or with the email address tied to your account. Deleting your Natived account does not cancel an App Store subscription, so manage any Apple auto-renewing subscription separately before deletion.
Security, Children, and Changes
Local workspace security depends on your device, operating system account, file permissions, disk encryption, and backups. Data sent to Natived services, Vercel, Upstash, Anthropic, Google, Apple, and Stripe is transmitted over HTTPS where applicable. No app, local server, cloud service, AI provider, payment processor, or internet-connected workflow is risk-free.
Natived Spaces is not directed to children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use Natived Spaces or submit content to AI features without permission and supervision from a parent or guardian.
We may update this page over time. The "Last updated" date will change when this page is materially revised. Continued use of Natived Spaces after changes means you accept the updated terms and policy.
